Busch Gardens Africa

Although Busch Gardens Africa is located in Tampa and not in Orlando itself, it is a little over an hour's drive away and is well worth the visit. Similar to the other total experience theme parks in Orlando, Busch Gardens Africa offers adventure rides, shows, animal attractions, restaurants, and shopping. Adventure Island is Busch Garden's water park and is located just across the street from Busch Gardens.

Although this African themed park has an incredible number of animals to view, there is definitely no lack of thrill rides either.  ome of the most popular include Sheikra, a roller coaster that drops its riders 200 feet face first at a 90-degree angle before splashing through the water; Gwazi, a wooden roller coaster that is the biggest in the Southeast US; Montu, a floorless roller coaster that boasts speeds of over 60 mph; and Stanley Falls, a water ride for the whole family. Among the shows offered are Pirates, a 4-D comedy experience; KaTonga, a 35-minute musical show based on African folklore and dance; and The Mystic Sheiks of Morocco, musical entertainers featuring a brass band, dancing and singing. Not to be missed is the Serengeti Railway, which takes its riders on a tour of the African plains to see zebras, giraffes, and other animals. Other animal attractions are Edge of Africa, a scenic tour of African wildlife, Rhino Rally, a safari ride; and Myombe Reserve, where guests can observe gorillas and chimpanzees up close.

The Flexticket allows visitors to pay one price to visit the three Universal destinations as well as SeaWorld and Busch Gardens. It also offers complementary shuttle transportation from a number of hotels in the area to Busch Gardens.
