SeaWorld

SeaWorld offers a more laid back and relaxing atmosphere than the other theme parks in Orlando as well as the opportunity to view fish, birds and many other creatures that live in the ocean or by the sea. Although SeaWorld does have two very popular rollercoaster rides, the main emphasis here is on wildlife and conservation.

The park is built around a lagoon and has several areas where guests can feed and interact with dolphins and sea lions. The killer whale, Shamu, is the park's most famous animal. He can be seen with his family, which has whales of all ages, including babies. Shamu stars in the newest show, Believe, which has whales swimming and interacting with their trainers. Another popular show is Blue Horizon, featuring birds, dolphins, and whales.  Other shows include Odyssea, an acrobatic comedy performance; Pets Ahoy, showcasing cats, dogs, skunks, pigs and birds, all of which have been rescued from animal shelters; and Clyde and Seamore, an amusing sea lion show.

Among the rides offered are Kraken, a hair raising rollercoaster resembling a dragon in all its fury; Journey to Atlantis, a thrill-ride that splashes its riders into the water; and Wild Arctic, a simulated helicopter ride into a snowy remote Arctic station, where guests can see Arctic animals in a specially climatized environment.  In Shark Encounter, visitors walk through a transparent tunnel in a gigantic tank containing sharks and other dangerous sea creatures.

In addition, there are leisure areas for children to play in, as well as a boardwalk on the lake with restaurants and shops.

Florida's third largest city is America's number one tourist destination. The Sunshine State has always had the weather and laid back vibe to attract vacationers. In 1965 Mr. Walt Disney announced the plans that would eventually make Orlando the most visited city in America. Today Disney World shares the over 50 million Orlando area visitors each year with other popular destinations.

Disney World alone, with its amusement and water parks, can easily take up five or six days with the family. Walt Disney World includes the Magic Kingdom, Epcot Center, Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom, Typhoon Lagoon, Blizzard Beach and Downtown Disney. Sea World and Universal Orlando are great accompaniments to fill in a longer family vacation.
The Orlando area hot spots don't end there. The list of dinner theatres, water parks, and themed adventure tours that are competing for business is a long one. Even if you want to water ski behind a cable or skydive indoors on a pocket of air, Orlando has what you are looking for.

Universal Drive is a tourist destination for night owls. This lively thoroughfare is packed with recognizable restaurants, bars, clubs, and tourist friendly shopping. Tourism is big business in Orlando but it is not the only game in town. Locals enjoy some great nightlife as well. Orange Avenue and Church Street are the center of a bar and music scene that comes alive when the sun goes down. Orlando is an example of a prioritized and carefully laid out city. It's not difficult to sell Orlando as a great Vacation destination. It is number one in America for good reason.
