Walt Disney World

Walt Disney World first opened its doors in 1971, but it is still the most popular Disney destination in the United States. Over the years it has grown and now covers an area larger than many cities. Among the most important attractions are four major theme parks: the Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Epcot, and Disney-MGM Studios, two water parks: Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon, and two nighttime entertainment areas: Boardwalk, and Pleasure Island.

Disney offers a Park Hopper, which allows guests to pay one price for visiting all of its parks within a certain time period. Tickets may be bought online, but guests will have to take proof of purchase to a Disney park entrance in order to pick up the tickets. Disney offers a Fastpass, which allows visitors to schedule their rides once they are in the park in order to avoid long lines.

Walt Disney World offers other outdoor and sports options such as a sports complex, golf courses, lakes, a nature preserve and a campground. Walt Disney resorts are minutely detailed and offer a very entertaining stay. There is also a wide variety of shopping and dining venues, which most visitors are unable to pull themselves away from.

Different forms of transportation are offered for this city within a city, which include an elevated monorail, highways, and a canal system. A visit to Disney World will definitely be a jaw-dropping experience. There is so much to do and see that it is practically impossible to experience everything in one trip.

Guests who stay at official Walt Disney World Hotels for the duration of their visit are able to park their car and use the monorail or shuttle buses to get to the theme parks. In addition to this, Disney guarantees on-site guests entry to parks even if they have already reached their capacity. The main Disney Hotels are Yacht and Beach Club Resorts, Disney's All-Star Movies Resort, Disney's Grand Floridian, Disney's Wilderness Lodge, and Disney's Boardwalk Inn.

There are also many other hotels near Disney World. These are located in the Lake Buena Vista area, which is just off I-4, exit 68, as well as on US 192, and in the Kissimmee area.

Directions: Walt Disney World is accessible just off I-4 and there are signs for the different parks and resorts.

Disney World alone, with its amusement and water parks, can easily take up five or six days with the family. Walt Disney World includes the Magic Kingdom, Epcot Center, Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom, Typhoon Lagoon, Blizzard Beach and Downtown Disney. Sea World and Universal Orlando are great accompaniments to fill in a longer family vacation.
The Orlando area hot spots don't end there. The list of dinner theatres, water parks, and themed adventure tours that are competing for business is a long one. Even if you want to water ski behind a cable or skydive indoors on a pocket of air, Orlando has what you are looking for.

Universal Drive is a tourist destination for night owls. This lively thoroughfare is packed with recognizable restaurants, bars, clubs, and tourist friendly shopping. Tourism is big business in Orlando but it is not the only game in town. Locals enjoy some great nightlife as well. Orange Avenue and Church Street are the center of a bar and music scene that comes alive when the sun goes down. Orlando is an example of a prioritized and carefully laid out city. It's not difficult to sell Orlando as a great Vacation destination. It is number one in America for good reason.
