Epcot Center

Epcot stands for "Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow" and is an educationally oriented theme park, making it especially suitable for older children. When Walt Disney designed this park, it was his vision of what a planned city should be like.

There are two main areas: Future World and World Showcase. Future World is a demonstration of technological innovations, while World Showcase presents the culture and famous landmarks of 11 countries around the world. Many of the employees in each of these pavilions are actually from the countries they represent and are ready to explain things about their country or chat with guests. The pavilions also feature traditional dishes from each country, making dining an especially enjoyable experience. There is a charming lagoon in the center of World Showcase, as well as tranquil gardens in Canada, China, England, France, and Germany.

Visitors to this park must be prepared to walk as Epcot is big. However, for those who have time to spare, there are water taxis that depart from boat docks near the Canada and Mexico pavilions.

The popular attractions in this park are Mission: Space, Test Track, and Soarin', which are located at Future World. The Times Guide is a must for those who do not want to miss any special presentations. Illuminations, a light show complete with fireworks, is presented on the lake at night.

The following hotels are within a very short distance: Disney's Beach Club Resort, Disney's Yacht Club, Disney's Boardwalk Villas, the Walt Disney World Swan, and the Walt Disney World Dolphin. The monorail and Walt Disney World shuttle buses also drop visitors off at the front gate.
