With force so strong the water appears to boil over a large area of the spring, Alexander Springs pumps out 76 million gallons of water daily. Located in the Ocala National Forest, the spring has the greatest flow of any natural spring on government land. Flowing into the 7-mile Alexander Creek and surrounded by unspoiled wilderness, the area will delight those interested in a wide variety of recreation. With crystal clear water and a wide sand beach, swimming is a favorite activity. Diving in the spring is so popular that local scuba instructors use it for new diver certification. Alexander Creek offers a wonderful opportunity to paddle a true wilderness canoe trail, and the spring is circled by a nature trail that winds through subtropical forest.
